public art consulting –

In the past four years, Leslie Pritchett has managed or supported more than 28 public art projects, including eight major temporary art installations within the city of San Francisco. She has substantial experience managing: public art selection processes, artist interface and support, contracting, permitting, engineering, insurance, installation, budgeting and communications. In addition, she has worked with a variety of City and State agencies on public art projects that have had definitive completion dates and challenging timelines.

Many of the public art projects reviewed on this site were undertaken by Leslie in her role as the executive director of the Black Rock Arts Foundation. The goal of that nonprofit organization is to use public art to help build community and foster civic engagement. She values tremendously the connections she has been able to forge with members of the varied communities with whom she has worked and the positive interactions that have been generated by the projects that she has helped develop.

Before moving into the public art realm, Leslie worked for twenty years in private enterprise in roles that afforded her substantial managerial responsibility for planning, project management and fiscal oversight. She holds an MBA from Columbia University and has extensive experience in building and implementing marketing and communications programs.
