creative fabrication –

Ferrum Creative Fabrication creates custom furniture, shelving, gates, fences, doors, railings, banisters, garden constructs and more. Ferrum can design and build; build to your design; or work collaboratively with you on your project. Incorporation of wood and/ or glass elements into the work is a specialty.

My path in metalwork, however, wasn’t always an obvious route for me.

I graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a BA in fine arts. In college, I initially focused on photography. After a while, I started to artistically branch out. I began doing ceramics based on my photography: I was doing reliefs that were inspired from the images I photographed. I started making metal armatures to display my ceramics and found that I really enjoyed welding and creating with metal.

But, after college, my creative side was basically dormant for twenty years. Three or four years ago, I started thinking: I need to get back to that. I need to find some happiness there. I quit what I was doing and opened my own business.

I bring a real joy into my original designs, and am eager to build to a client’s specs. My work is creative, distinctive, artistic and always functional.
