The Mad Hatter Parade starts at 4:30PM down Georgia Street ― ending at the Festival with Vallejo’s Tree Lighting Ceremony beginning at 6PM and including a fire-shooting Santa Gnome and the Lighted Boat Parade at 6:30PM.
This year’s Parade Grand Marshals are Mark Muñoz, The Filipino Wrecking Machine, who is one of the contenders for the world’s middleweight title, and Olivia Jasmine, former VOENA singer and American Idol finalist.
Watch Santa arrive on the firing Trojan horse, meet the Ladybug, look through the oversized Steampunk Kaleidoscope, meet the Gypsy Time Travelers in their European Castle, ride in the Mad Hatter’s Giant Sofa, or on any of the whimsical wagons and Victorian recreations that come out of Alice’s Wonderland.
As one of Vallejo’s star attractions, the Mad Hatter Festival, Parade and Tree Lighting is an experience that everyone should have on their bucket list. Mark your calendars to watch the Burning Man fire-shooting art mobiles, whimsical art cars, marching bands, costumed characters, California Maritime Cadets in full blues and dancing the waltz ― among other surprises. The day is full of interesting, creative, and unique activities. Some will enchant, others will be magical or surreal.
You’ll see in the Festival the larger than life Mad Hatter and his Tea Party followers, the March Hare, Lion King and Cheshire Cat ― an experience that will bring childhood memories back and create new ones for children.
There will be street carolers, musicians and photos with Santa at Alice’s Palace on Georgia Street. You’ll be glad that you stepped into the rabbit hole and entered wonderland in Vallejo!
Continue with Alice’s Holiday Adventure at Greater Vallejo Recreation District’s Wonderland Park’s Tree Lighting at 7PM on Glen Street with Gramd Marshal Olivia Jasmine singing with the St. Patrick’s/St Vincent’s choir.
Or make your way back to Alice’s Palace as it becomes the Mad Hatter Costume Ball with the Grand Ballroom opening at 7:30PM for $20. (See Coupon below for $5 discount.) Wonderland costumed characters galore with a circus of activities and performers around live stopping bluegrass music with Fiddlaround and The Raymond Victor Band.
