American Steel Studios is happy to host Urban Genuine – A Panoramic View of Bay Area Artists, in the Poplar Gallery, Sunday, October 2nd from 11am to 5pm. This exhibit will showcase some of American Steel’s amazing artists along with contributing artists from the Bay Area.

Come by and see the works of Jann Nunn, Rebecca Peters, Jane Elliott, Carl Steiger, Juan Jimenez, Aaron Irish, Kat Meler, and Fortune Sitole and dozens more.

Panel Discusses Burning Man on KQED’s Forum

Karen Cusolito was recently part of a panel discussion hosted by Bill Shafer. Along with guests Larry Harvey, co-founder and executive director of Burning Man, and Steven T. Jones, city editor at the San Francisco Bay Guardian and author of “The Tribes of Burning Man”, Karen spoke about her experiences as an artist working at the Burning Man event and being a part of Burning Man’s plan to help revitalize San Francisco’s Central Market Street corridor.

Missile Truck Fired Up At San Francisco Marathon

American Steel Studios represented at the San Francisco Marathon on July 31, 2011 and in the finest of style. Tom Kennedy’s Missile Truck was recently spiffed up and we got to take it out for a spin. Thanks to Jake, Flash and Big Jim and all those who helped make this the best SF Marathon finish line ever!

WOCA’S ANNUAL SUMMER SHINDIG: Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 5:00pm

West Oakland – it’s hip and happening. Join us for the Annual Summer Shindig and meet your neighbors and local businesses! Friends and guests are welcome. Enjoy locally brewed ale from Linden Street Brewery, live music by “Lucid,” and guided tours of the 6 acre American Steel Studios facility aboard a vintage Cushman.

Come out and meet your neighbors, local businesses and artists from the West Oakland area! See art exhibits, demonstrations and learn more about what’s going on right in your own backyard! The West Oakland Commerce Association (WOCA) is a non-profit organization that works to promote the overall health and vitality of West Oakland and the surrounding area through promotion of business and the free enterprise system.

Guests are welcome and encouraged. No RSVP necessary. This event is $5 at the door for all members and non-members.
